Repovesi National Park is situated in the municipalities of Valkeala and Mäntyharju, only a few hours north-east from Helsinki. Pine and birch trees dominate the park. Repovesi abounds with wildlife including bear, deer and various birds. The River Koukunjoki cuts through the park. Other streams and lakes are also situated within the parks boundaries.
I spent the previous night in Kouvola only 50km from the Natural Park of Repovesi. I woke up at 5 a.m. and by 6 a.m. and in complete darkness I was already walking with all my equipment into the forest. My goal was to be at the right location to catch the first soft light of the day on the trees and at the same time the reflection of these on the water. I stood speechless in front such an emotional landscape . Silence spoke...
